About the AU

The Athletics Union is the life and soul of the Students’ Union and is the largest (2,000+ members) society in a small University. The AU’s central aim is to provide sport for all no matter your ability and despite LSE’s central location, the Union provides a range of easily accessible facilities.
Plato once said,

“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.”

Same could be said of an hour of socialising with your new mates! The AU should be considered an international superstar at combining the two.

Being a member not only provides countless sporting opportunities, it opens up a whole social group beyond the sweat and tears of the field or court. Unlike most universities where you can meet someone and not encounter them again during your time there, the beauty of LSE is that everyone knows everyone and you’ll continue seeing familiar faces and building relationships as you go along.

The starting point is the legendary Wednesday nights starting at our spiritual home, The Three Tuns. No matter which club you belong to or at what level, you're guaranteed an "interesting" night, to say the least. Join in the fun, belt out a love-song on the karaoke or simply catch up with your friends; expect to think of nothing else when asked "What are you doing Wednesday?"

LSE Athletics Union is proudly sponsored by KPMG.
